Hervey & Kentish Companions and the UGLE Universities Scheme.
Hervey & Kentish Companions became a UGLE Universities Scheme hybrid lodge in December 2016.
This target was announced by the Provincial Grand Master, RW. Bro. Mark Estaugh, at the last meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge on 3 May 2016 and was approved 17 December 2016.
Central London has many major universities within fifteen miles of the London Borough of Bromley – where Hervey & Kentish Companions Lodge currently meet.
A number of the students that attend London universities do not live in Central London because of the cost – and therefore either choose to live with their parents in the suburbs, or rent in the outer London Boroughs where accommodation is much cheaper.
Our meetings will take place in the heart of West Kent Freemasonry, and will therefore be conveniently placed for those studying London or local universities. Living, working, and socialising in London and the suburbs will be a key element of these students’ holistic university experience.
We received our first official candidate to interview in January 2017.
Further news on this exciting initiative will follow.
