Hervey Lodge was in high spirits as brethren gathered at Shirley Woolmer Lodge, Sidcup to celebrate the installation of our new Master, Alan French. The evening was filled with warmth, good humour, and genuine fellowship, culminating in a lively festive board where Alan was enthusiastically toasted and welcomed into his new role.
The installation ceremony was conducted with dignity and harmony by several members of the Lodge, led with confidence and skill by Past Master David Purvis. Their combined efforts ensured a memorable and meaningful occasion befitting the start of Alan’s year in the Chair.
Alan has been a proud member of Hervey Lodge for nine years. Despite relocating to Essex, his commitment to the Lodge has never faltered. When asked why he continues to travel so far to attend our meetings, he shared:
“I really value the support I receive from the lodge members, both within Freemasonry and in everyday life. Everyone is very friendly, and the atmosphere at our meetings is relaxed without diminishing the quality or meaning of the ceremonies. To me, Hervey Lodge 1692 shows the true spirt of Freemasonry and what being a Freemason is all about.’
Alan will be supported throughout his year by Senior Warden Louis McMillan and Junior Warden Michael Whiting, both of whom bring enthusiasm and dedication to their roles.
